Channing Tatum was back to his buff best on the red carpet last night for the UK premiere of his new movie "The Eagle" in London's Leicester Square. The former fashion model and stripper had been looking distinctly chunky of late, but appeared to have been bashing the gym ready to look svelte again to promote the Roman romp alongside co-star Jamie Bell. The movie also stars film legend Donald Sutherland, Sherlock Holmes baddie Mark Strong and former Fast Show star Simon Day.
Channing laughed off suggestions that his new film is a cross between The Gladiator and Brokeback Mountain. He said: 'That makes sense that they would say that, but there is no bromance on that level. But it’s really like a western – it’s two guys going into the unknown who really are enemies in a way and they learn to see themselves through each other’s eyes.' The film follows in the latest vogue on screen for all things Roman and tells the story of a young Roman soldier endeavors to honor his father's memory by finding his lost legion's golden emblem. It opens on March 25.
Channing's next movie meanwhile sees him star alongside Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche, Katie Holmes and Ray Liotta. Crime thriller Son Of No-one is out later this year. After that, he lines up with Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender and Antonio Banderas in Haywire. A Stephen Soderbergh action thriller is also out later this year.
