Nicki Minaj steps out in unflattering leather leotard and green wig

The 26-year-old rapper arrived at the Green Auction event held at the Rockefeller Centre in New York last night in a tight black leather cat suit with black leggings and heeled boots. Nicki Minaj’s appearance from the front was quite understated for the American singing star – despite the blonde and green wig and bright pink lips – and the leotard showed off her tiny waist and her enviable cleavage to perfection.

But while the view from the front was aesthetically pleasing from the back it was a very different style story and the high legged leotard did nothing to flatter her plentiful derriere. In fact, it was apparent the leotard was extremely ill fitting around her bottom and her back. But badly fitting clothing didn’t stop Nicki from taking to the stage to perform at the Christie’s Green Auction: Bid to Save The Earth event in New York.

The singer is no stranger to flaunting her fabulous curves in tight outfits and the night before, she treated Lil Wayne and his fans to a lap dance as part of the rapper’s I Am Music tour at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Nicki was dressed in a white and pink futuristic lycra catsuit as she performed on stage before gyrating on top of a lucky man was sat in a chair and appeared to be enjoying the view.

Minaj, who is no stranger to stealing the spotlight is the latest star to be considered as an X Factor judge.

Optical Illusion dress makes Jennifer Hudson look even slimmer

Jennifer Hudson has inspired women across the world with her dramatic weight loss. But it seems she still has another trick or two up her sleeve when it comes to showing off her newly svelte figure. And last night was no exception as the star slipped into an optical illusion dress, which arguably made her look skinnier than ever.

The zig-zag lines of the sequinned outfit had the effect of drawing in the eye and making her waist appear even smaller. Hudson, 29, was pictured in New York at the city's Tenjune venue for the launch of her new album, "I Remember Me". She looked immaculate in her dress, which she teamed with heels and hot pink lipstick.

Jennifer says she's dropped from a U.S. size 16 to a size 6 by embarking on the Weight Watchers regime and hitting the gym five times a week. Meanwhile, stills have been released of Hudson as Winnie Mandela in a new film role. The Dreamgirls star plays the wife of former South African president Nelson Mandela. She is set to hit the screens later this year.

Blake Lively in ballet shoe heels and ruffles at Chanel dinner

It appears as though rising style icon Blake Lively is jumping on the bandwagon, and taking fashion inspiration from the ballet world. The Gossip Girl attended a dinner hosted by Chanel in her honour in New York last night, wearing a pair of ballet shoe-inspired heels. 

The 23-year-old's white satin heels, by Christian Louboutin, resembled the pointe shoes worn by prima ballerinas, complete with square block toe. Designer shoe-loving Blake chose the Christian Louboutin heels over shoes by Chanel for the event, just a few weeks after Mr Louboutin named one of his coveted designs after her. As the guest of honour, perhaps Blake intended to do double duty as the evening's entertainment and perform a pirouette or two around the dining room at La Grenouille, where the glitzy affair was held.

The Gossip Girl paid tribute to Chanel in a white ruffled organza dress from the designer's 2009 haute couture collection. The actress, who was named as the face of Chanel Mademoiselle handbags in January carried a white quilted bag from the collection and  a pair of large emerald earrings. As she left the dinner Blake wrapped up in a black overcoat. The blonde beauty surprised many this week when she revealed that despite her close association with the brand, she would not be attending Chanel's autumn/winter show at Paris Fashion Week.

Lady Gaga steps out in her underwear in New York

It looked like the beginnings of a fashionable outfit. Lady Gaga had picked out a black lace bra and lace-up style tights for her trip to the recording studio. But she had forgotten one thing... the dress to go over the top. The pop star instead stepped out in just her underwear in New York today. Of course, for Gaga, this is relatively normal as she arrived at the Grammy awards last weekend in an egg, claiming she had been 'incubating' inside ahead of her performance.

Gaga had the words Born This Way emblazoned on the back of her jacket - a reference to her hit song, which today became the 1,000th single to top the U.S. Billboard charts. 'It is a tremendous honour,' she told Billboard. 'To be the thousandth number one on Billboard… I would be silly not to say this is the greatest honour of my career.' Born This Way also set a new record for the highest first-week digital sales for a female artist with a total of 448,000 downloads. The track is Gaga's first single off her new album, which is to be released in May.
